BUTTER UP Coffee is in its 3rd week and we are finally finding our feet...
We've had such a warm welcome from you locals, it's made our job very easy. We are so happy we did this and hope for a bright future on Tulse Hill High Street.
Now, we'd like to properly introduce ourselves...
We are Jam & Matt, equal owners of BUTTER UP Coffee. Friends, who met in 2012 whilst working our first 'proper' jobs in London. We sold advertising on the London Underground and buses until we each moved on to other roles, but always stayed in touch.
Matt is from Southampton and Jam is from Devon, both living in London for the last 9 years. We are both fairly local and familiar with the area.
It's always been a dream to open a bricks and mortar location. We were inspired to open a coffee shop at this time after seeing a few friends successfully do similar things during lockdown, naturally having plenty of free time + furlough to work on projects. We saw this crazy time of uncertainty as the perfect experimentation period.
We are risk takers and had only optimism when looking at the road ahead. It has taken us almost a year from starting the business plan to opening, with many bumps along the way, but we've had a huge amount of fun throughout.
We both still work full time jobs in Marketing, but there will almost always be at least one of us on site at any time. We like a chat and if we're not on the floor, we'll be in the office next door, so we're here if you'd like to ask us any questions about us or the journey, or anything else for that matter.
